WTF?
Next time you’re in St. Barth’s make sure to stop by Le Barthelemy’s rooftop bar, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. The bar’s buzzy scene attracts locals and visitors with fabulous cocktails, postcard perfect sunset views, and a happening atmosphere that falls somewhere in between beach bar and DJ fueled nightclub.
When Le Barthelemy GM, Marc Dobbels, visited the Local Foreigner office recently, he explained the meaning behind the bar’s cheeky name. After Hurricane Irma destroyed much of Le Barthelemy’s property in 2017, Marc walked up to the rooftop to assess the damage. There, he found the entire bar intact – tables and chairs unmoved, champagne bottles unbroken, and artwork untouched by the hurricane’s devastating winds. The scene elicited an expletive response from Dobbels and all who saw it. So when it came time to rename the rooftop watering hole, there was only one logical choice: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
