Local Foreigner is a luxury travel consultancy, and we charge hourly fees for our services. Hourly rates vary among team members and range from $100 to $275. At the beginning of the trip planning process, we take an upfront retainer. Once this retainer is exhausted by accrued planning hours, we bill on a monthly basis.

Local Foreigner specializes in high-end travel and works mostly with five-star hotels & resorts as well as equivalent boutique properties, villas, and safari camps. Generally, the hotels we specialize in begin at $750-1,000 per room, per night. Full package ground services (car/driver, guiding, unique experiences) typically begin at $1,000 per person, per day.

Local Foreigner can book hotels through Amex at any client’s request; however, we offer clients better perks through our own preferred partner programs with hundreds of hotels around the world. Additionally, our relationships with hotel owners and general managers result in added amenities, upgrades, and space clearing when it often appears impossible. We guide our clients to the right hotel via firsthand knowledge and experience.

Our team maintains extensive knowledge of international airlines and their products through on-going seminars, site visits, and airline training sessions. We manage bookings for high-profile clients and coordinate large group travel. Cash tickets are subject to a $65 ticketing fee, which provides 24-hour domestic and international customer support. We are not mileage or point specialists but are happy to direct you to trusted experts.

We have an amazing network of villa partners around the world, with exclusive access to private listings. We do not work with rental websites such as VRBO or Airbnb and only use accredited local brokers who visit and maintain their villas to preserve quality control.

In order for us to ensure the quality and seamlessness for which our brand is recognized, we must control all components of an itinerary, from flight and hotel booking to touring and concierge services. While we do offer personalized recommendations, these services are only offered as part of a fully curated itinerary.
