The St. Regis Aspen
Hotel Name: The St. Regis Aspen Resort
Number of Rooms: 179 rooms & suites
Location: Around the corner from anywhere you’d need to be in Aspen.
Set in the prime location between the gondola and lift 1A, at the base of Aspen Mountain, the 179-room, 5-story St. Regis offers reliable and high-end resort accommodations. Guest rooms were designed by none other than Ralph Lauren, and feel masculine, earthy, and contemporary, with leather beds and antique oak floors. The staff is always warm and the tasteful interiors are equally inviting. Hands down, the St. Regis’ highlight is the Remède Spa - a treatment here is a must. The year-round outdoor pool treats sore ski bodies in the winter and hikers in the summer, and remains a reason many families return year after year.
What We Loved: The space - this is the largest luxury hotel in Aspen, and it just gives you room to exhale. Plus, does anyone do out-west Americana like Mr. Lauren?
What We Didn’t Love: The hotel can feel a bit big and resort-y over peak periods (you know the vibe - ballrooms oozing bridesmaids, etc.)
Right For: For a crowd pleaser, it’s hard to beat the St. Regis - this tried and true address will make most travelers happy, whether your mountain view is snow-capped or covered in summer greenery.
Wrong For: If you’re not seeking the Grand Dame, the venerable St. Regis may not be for you.
Best Time to Visit: Ski season books quickly; so does the Aspen Food & Wine Festival at the end of July.
TLF Tip: Go full Colorado with a CBD facial, made with a therapeutic amount of CBD, antioxidants, vitamins, and nutrients that have been scientifically proven to leave the skin glowing. Rocky mountain high, indeed.
(Also, the hotel is home to a Burmese Mountain Dog named Kitty.)
