Though Perry Lane is brand new from top to bottom, having just opened in 2018, you’d be forgiven for thinking this Savannah staple has been around forever. Just one minute’s walk from Chippewa Square (where Forrest Gump famously waited for his bus), the property offers easy access to everything that makes Savannah an ideal long-weekend destination. If you ever decide to leave the hotel itself, that is – with 80s arcade games in the lobby restaurant, a personal in-room cookie jar that gets refilled each evening, and a rooftop pool bar with macramé hammocks, lawn games, and epic views over downtown, Perry Lane is a distillation of the effortless style, charm, and fun that make the its home city so special.

What We Loved: The sense of fun – this is a place you’ll find a motorcycle hanging from a restaurant ceiling and a lobby bar cart serving a complimentary daily cocktail each afternoon.

What We Didn’t Love: While the vibe is welcoming and residential, this is still a 167-room hotel, and you may still encounter the occasional wedding or corporate board meeting.

Right For: Travelers looking to slow down, don their favorite linen pants and pastel polo, and enjoy that peaches-and-cream Southern hospitality Savannah is famous for.

Wrong For: Those seeking a quiet, boutique property for their weekend away.

Best Time to Visit: Mid March-Early July, Mid-September-Mid November

TLF Tip: On Saturday mornings, work up an appetite for your shrimp and grits with a rooftop yoga class.
