A 15-minute drive from central Hoi An, The Four Seasons Nam Hai combines the leisurely atmosphere of a beach resort with the engaging cultural appeal of a city hotel. The palm-fringed property is dotted with lotus ponds and meandering walkways that weave between 100 pagoda-style suites. Guests can spend their days lounging on the pristine beach, indulging in spa treatments, or participating in cultural activities like cooking classes or Tai Chi. When you’re ready to explore the lantern-decked streets of Hoi An, a complimentary shuttle service awaits.

What We Loved: The resort’s beautiful beachfront location offers direct access to a practically private beach, but you’re a 15-minute transfer to the impossibly charming town of Hoi An. At night, the lanterns in the resort and in the town are so beautiful you’ll be at risk of maxing out your iCloud storage with photos.

What We Didn’t Love: The resort is on the larger side, so during peak season, couples looking for relaxation at the adult pool may hear evidence of the kids’ pool next door. The solution? Book a villa with a private pool.

Right For: Cultural travelers who want a respite in the middle of a full Vietnam itinerary, or as a first stop to recover from the commitment of travel time to Southeast Asia.

Wrong For: Hoi An is firmly on the travel trail, so if you’re someone who wants to fly more under the radar, there may be other coastal resorts in Vietnam that will feel less discovered.

Best Time to Visit: From February to April and from August to October, when the weather is warm and pleasant with less rainfall, making it ideal for beach activities and exploring Hoi An.

TLF Tip: Take advantage of the resort’s complimentary shuttle service to Hoi An to explore the ancient town’s lantern-lit streets, bustling markets, and historic sites. Additionally, the resort offers a unique “Goodnight Kiss to the Earth” ritual, where guests can release floating candles on the property’s lagoon.
