Aman New York
Hotel Name: Aman New York
Number of Rooms: 83
Location: Midtown Manhattan
Welcome to Aman New York, the city's best-kept secret, hiding amidst the buzzing streets of Manhattan. This urban oasis is like a magic trick in the heart of the city that never sleeps - it's where Aman's zen meets the New York City's pizzazz, making you feel like you're in two places at once. Get ready for spacious rooms with jaw-dropping skyline snapshots, a spa that defines 'serenity,' and Central Park and Saks on your doorstep. New York, New York, it's a wonderful town!
What We Loved: The spa here is an EVENT – the hotel offers double treatment rooms they call “Spa Houses,” with living rooms, individual hammams, and a terrace with hot and cold plunge pools. After a half or full day of pampering, you’ll reemerge into the city bustle with big main character energy.
What We Didn’t Love: Let’s not mince words – the Aman New York is pricey. But its otherworldly interiors make you feel like you’re lightyears away from Midtown, and the nightly rate is at least more affordable than space travel.
Right For: Couples, solo travelers, and anyone looking for the ultimate urban reset will appreciate the sensation of floating above it all that’s offered by the Aman.
Wrong For: Budget-conscious travelers and those who prefer a livelier and more bustling atmosphere might not fully appreciate Aman New York. Families with young children might also find the hotel's tranquil ambiance less suited to their needs.
Best Time to Visit: New York’s appeal isn’t limited by such plebian concepts as SEASONS, but Central Park’s fall foliage and the festive Christmas windows along 5th Avenue are beloved for a reason.
TLF Tip: The hotel is housed in the Beaux-Arts Crown Building, which was built in 1921 and was the first home to the Museum of Modern Art. Visitors that want to include a visit to today’s MoMa just need to walk three blocks south.
