Along the crowded Los Cabos corridor, Las Ventanas al Paraiso has managed the impossible -- an utterly blissful retreat where any preconceived notions of what "Cabo" means slip into the sublime abyss between the cacti-studded desert and the Sea of Cortez. Here, relaxation is the shared commonality between couples, families, and friend groups and staff members stop at nothing to ensure every need is met. At Las Ventanas, paradise means personal butlers proffering sunset cocktails as if by magic, private pools for sun splashed soaks, and lantern-lit dinners across palapa-roofed terraces.

What We Loved: The level of detail at Las Ventanas is unmatched, both when it comes to service (the property boasts a 4-1 staff-to-guest ratio) and to design. To put it simply, the mosaic work, colorful glass, and proliferation of local art fills us with glee.

What We Didn’t Love: The ocean-front rooms, while offering incredible views of the cartoonishly-blue Sea of Cortez beyond, unfortunately don’t offer a ton of privacy, located as they are along the adults-only pool.

Right For: Romance! Dinner overlooking the glassy pool waters, while the fairy lights twinkle in the twisted tree branches, is sure to spark some feelings of amor.

Wrong For: While there’s no age limit, there’s also no kid’s club, so families may want to look elsewhere to feel fully accommodated.

Best Time to Visit: November to July (though it gets hot as you get into summer). Just steer clear during hurricane season, from late August to mid October.

TLF Tip: For a milestone celebration or once-in-a-lifetime trip, the 28,000 square foot Ty Warner villa is filled with jaw dropping details, including a private 300+ foot infinity pool and custom works from artisans in Jalisco, Michoacán, Chiapas, and Oaxaca.
