The Coolest Trips We Planned This Year
We love every trip we plan — we can’t help it, it’s in our DNA. But some are just so over-the-top spectacular, we can’t help but brag. These are the coolest trips we planned this year.
Boathouse on Lake Powell
We planned an epic family-reunion type trip for our clients, their adult children, spouses & partners, and a few scattered nieces and nephews. They stayed on a houseboat on Lake Powell and had an itinerary full of unforgettable experiences, like slot canyon rappelling and a private storytelling session with a Navajo Code Talker. There was also plenty of time for wakeboarding, a beloved family hobby. The best part was the fly-in videographer we arranged to capture the entire trip on camera. The video of their vacation brings us to tears!

Europe’s Best Honeymoon
Okay I don’t think you can top an elopement at the Ritz Paris, followed by an overnight on the Orient Express, followed by a few nights at the Cipriani, topped off with a suite at Villa Feltrinelli.

East African Safari
I was able to plan a family bucket list trip to Tanzania and Rwanda. Nothing beats a classic East African safari followed by once-in-a-lifetime chimp and gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Planning this trip, and planning safaris in general, is such a special experience. I can feel my clients’ excitement through the screen. Helping them build those memories is the reason why I love my job so much.

Whirlwind Egypt
I got a last-minute request for a “highlights of Egypt” trip in a really short time frame. At Local Foreigner, I think we have a knack for creativity, but this took the cake. We were able to fit a privatized, after-hours Egyptian Museum visit, sunrise at the pyramids with a Egyptologist, and a heli-tour of Cairo all into one weekend. I’m all about slowing down and savoring a destination, but there’s something to be said about this kind of rapid-fire weekend. It was exactly what the client needed and we were able to execute it flawlessly.

Finally The Faroe Islands
I took a trip to the Faroe Islands in the summer of 2019 and I’ve been dying to send clients ever since. This year I finally, FINALLY, got a request from clients who wanted to go “somewhere different.” Once I heard that I knew I had just the spot. I’m reliving every glorious minute of my trip during the planning process. I can’t wait to send them to this totally magical destination.

Proposal at Amangiri
I helped a client plan a proposal at Amangiri. I mean, come on?! What could be more special than that.
